Raised in central Illinois, Atit Shah, MD, is a Midwesterner at heart. Dr. Shah obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, where he studied bioengineering with a minor in chemistry. He decided to stay at his alma mater to obtain his medical degree. After medical school, Dr. Shah did his first year of residency in a suburb of Chicago. During his anesthesiology residency in New York City, Dr. Shah realized his passion for pain management and for helping patients alleviate their pain. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Shah decided to make his way back to the Midwest. He moved to Ohio, where he completed his fellowship in pain medicine at Case Western University.
