Patient Testimonials

APICO is professional and helpful, respects appointment times, and waits are not long, except for some procedures . I would give them and the great doctor a five star but for the fact he is not allowed by Medicare which requires slow cheap incremental procedures to deal with pain as quickly and effectively as might/should be allowed, but isn't. The problem is systemic to the rules of Medicare; the insurer calls the shots, not the doctor. . I am hopeful because the doctor is helpful but in nearly a year I have had only moderate relief of pain for arthritic spinal problems. I am still hopeful that once they have gone through all the try- this-first steps, that he may be able to give me relief. Pain is exhausting and demoralizing. I have noted other reviewers give only a 3 star rating for APICO outcomes and pain relief. To me, these decisions of what works best, what should be done for relief, should only the doctor's decision, not the insurer's conservative rules, which prolong suffering un-necessarily. A patient should get treatment for maximum pain relief possible, sooner rather than later, rather than jumping through the hoops of Medicare requirements for step by step conservative years long too timid procedures. Very sad. Medicare is insurance we, the people who subscribe, pay into for. I am still hopeful and I trust my Doctor Abdallah. I will review again in the future especially when treatment gets to the obvious problem of a messed up back and truly manages the pain. Pills, steroid injections, and opiates are not the best or only solution. There are better, quicker fixes for pain out there, even when the cause of the pain cannot be fixed, suppression of the pain messaging can be done rather easily surgically according to literature in the doctor's office and the doctor himself. I, like you, want my life back, quick as possible.

After suffering with chronic pain in my back for over 25 years, I FINALLY found someone who ACTUALLY LISTENED to me and understood what I was experiencing. He understood that I didn't want to just mask the pain with drugs, that PT wasn't the answer, that the shots and treatments were not working, and following endless guidelines required by the insurance companies. He knew that I needed to be seen by a neurologist. He referred me to someone that cared about me as much as Dr. Abdullah did. He ACTUALLY cared about me. How many doctors can anyone say that about?! He changed the quality of my life. I only wish that each and every doctor could take a class from him on how to really listen to the patient. We are at our most vulnerable when we walk into these offices. We are seeking help in trying to find out why we are suffering, to have a total stranger take the time to LISTEN to all our complaints and be able to break them down to help you find a solution to the problem with humanity is a rare thing. Dr. Abdullah and his staff are those people. I truly don't know where I would be if Dr. Abdullah had not come into my life and offered me the lifeline that I needed. He is not just a doctor doing his job, he is a true friend that wants the best for you. This is precious just like he is to me. His staff is kind, considerate, professional and most of all a true reflection of the human being that he is.

Had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Abdullah again today after a recent injection treatment. The treatment has substantial reduced the pain I was experiencing. The entire staff is very helpful, friendly and professional. I would highly recommend them for anyone needing pain management.

First let me share that I was scheduled to see the doctor. They didn't even call to tell me he was not even there that day! Even though the PA was very nice - I should have seen who I was scheduled with.... but either way there are things I wish they told you before scheduling and wasting peoples time. They don't prescribe certain extended release pain medications. They will not take over your medications. If you're not well below the state level, they won't do prior authorizations and if you've been on pain management for twenty years, they'll require you to cut whatever medication you're taking below half depending on your equivalent amount. My doctor sent them a referral letter and had someone at the center has done their job by reading it, they could have called me and told me they don't even prescribe extended release medication in certain types at all. I could have still been looking for another place that possibly could see me instead of wasting precious time I don't have to find a new pain Management. How could you see someone who has serious issues and try and cut them more than half? It's just all about injections now instead of medication maintenance. Especially for those that really need it. It's so sad and so discriminating.
