What Patients Say
Patient Testimonials
“Great physicians and staff! My husband injured his back over a weekend. Dr. Martin and his PA were amazing, he went from barely able to walk on a Sunday to back to work on Wednesday. Can't say enough about the treatment he received.”
— Shannon Hebert
“I see Dr. Martin for low back and elbow pain. I tried my best describing the pain in my elbow but didn't think I was making much sense. When I tell you this man injected my elbow RIGHT ON THE MONEY. I went back a month later for my other elbow injection. I now have zero pain in both elbows!!! All 5 doctors are a God send to the Lafayette area. They are so incredibly sweet and very willing to help make their pain patients as comfortable as possible.”
— Lacey Mayeux
“I did not end up in need of such services by choice. My Lafayette-based Marine Corps unit was deployed on a combat mission overseas where I was wounded by enemy fire, leaving me permanently injured, and dependent on medical treatment, hardware, and/or medication to manage the effects of such injuries. As anyone who has experienced severe long-term pain will tell you, if not properly managed, it will take over every aspect of your daily life. What was simple before is demanding, and what was straightforward before is now complicated. To blunt the mental and physical effects of the pain, I devote time daily to stay strong and limber, to eat right and not put extra weight on the injured limbs and joints, to maintain a rest and sleep schedule, to maintain a support group for when the pain is overbearing. Anything I can do to rely less on medical treatment is a daily priority for me, but some treatment is still required, and is necessary to maintaining a demanding full-time professional career and social schedule. Recently, I had a refill due at APC Pharmacy. My home is a couple of hours North of Lafayette. Upon arrival, the lead pharmacist notified me that the medication would no longer be filled by APC Pharmacy, "because I also have a home and pay a portion of my taxes in Texas." Although she was prepared to deny the refill, she did not have the written prescriptions required to fill the medications elsewhere. Should a patient call the nurse's station and request a written prescription, the first thing you're told is to expect up to a 10-day wait, so after doing everything I could to advance my cause, I returned home without the prescriptions. From the time the refill was due, to the time it was filled elsewhere, nine days passed. For a person experiencing severe physical pain, whether acute or chronic, neuropathic or nociceptive, one day without treatment is the longest day of their life. I believe anyone has the right to deny business, whether their reason is right or wrong, but to not consider the patient's basic needs (written scripts) upon denial, leading to consecutive days without treatment, is not caring for the patient's health. It's careless, it's not healthcare, and it's not professional. In my case, one careless 'healthcare professional' was responsible for a week of physical agony, a week of unscheduled "vacation" days with my Engineering Firm, a week of zero sleep, a week with little to eat, a week of no exercise, two round-trips to Lafayette, and a daily reliving of the injuries that required me to depend on healthcare treatment in the first place. Each day was long, and it's not something I plan to experience again. I leave this review not to convince future patients to not choose, or to choose to be treated here. In fairness, the majority of the administration, techs, nurses, and doctors in the office and pharmacy are 5-star individuals. But I leave this review here regardless, because something like this should never occur, yet it occured to me here, and therefore, it could occur to anyone else that chooses to be treated here, and especially anyone else that chooses to fill their prescriptions at the attached pharmacy here, and if I were considering treatment here, I would want to know about such instances, so I could make an informed decision.”

“I can't be more displeased at this time. I had an appointment with them but during the Christmas holidays I forgot to call. I made it there to my appointment drove all the way from Alexandria to Lafayette for nothing. They know I got 2 bulging disk in my back just did epidural injections on my back prior to all this and let me leave there with no script. I talked to Christine told her I was coming days before that she didn't bother to tell not to come if I didn't call within a 10 day supply time. To add insult to injury they gave me another appointment only to call cancel that one and told me they can't see me til sometime in February and I can't get mrds from another doctor cause it would void my contract. To me that is malpractice. I am in pain and very upset with them and the VA for allowing this to happen to me a War Time vet.”
