HORRID EXPERIENCE. Rishi Gaiha, MD is single handedly the worst doctor I have ever come across. He was rude, arrogant, did not listen, and told me I wasn't in as severe of pain as I am. I am in my 20s and so debilitated by pain that I'm walking with a cane. He said he could do absolutely nothing for me and had zero insight as to how I'm supposed to manage this level of pain. I wish I avoided this doctor at all costs. It also doesn't help that his resident told me I had a 'suspected' connective tissue disorder when I was confirmed diagnosed by a geneticist. If you want to be listened to, want someone to understand your pain, or show even the slightest bit of human compassion, do NOT go here.

I have never had such terrible medical care in my life. I suffer from chronic back pain due to spinal stenosis and was hospitalized at Masonic at the beginning of February for horrid Level 10 pain that was radiating into my legs. The folks in the hospital got me feeling better through medications. When I was discharged I was told to follow up with a Dr Rishi Gaiha at Illinois Masonic Pain Management. I did not choose to go to him and I never would. His treatment of me and bedside manner were the worst I have ever received of my 69 years on this planet. Just plain mean, arrogant and disrespectful. His diagnosis and help for my pain went something like this "Lose 50 pounds and go have fusion surgery at Northwestern." How would you like to be told that from a pain management specialist? I'm sitting there in level 8 pain listening to this. This man needs to get some bedside manner and relearn what pain management is all about out. If you choose to have pain care at Masonic be sure to carefully guide your own care.

Long wait for procedure completion , little/no explanation that it is a three part process, and that it will take weeks maybe months to complete..The office is pretty unorganized and chaotic. Had first injection on August 23rd , must wait until September 18th to have second process. (No availability) .As a nurse I think the pain management team may want to review its mission of pain relief.and the process they have in place. It should not be a three month ordeal to obtain an epidural for pain relief. When follow up appointments are not available in a timely manner then why begin the first process ? I had one week of pain relief now it's three weeks before the second process. Who knows how long to obtain the final nerve block. Very disappointed in this service. I would have chosen another provider.

GO ANYWHERE ELSE! The office/schedulers have absolutely not one ounce of professionalism or customer service. They speak as if answering the phone and scheduling a patient is not their job and you're bothering them. It's worse in person, because then you're treated to the condescending tone and eye rolls. They will lose your paperwork and blame you. Regardless if it means you'll miss your appointment. Even if you offer to email the paperwork (that they lost) they'll just nitpick. I had my surgery after my accident here & yet they still couldn't bring up the information. You would think a pain management team would have a better work ethic, considering the patients are looking for help with PAIN Management. Save yourself the headache and time. Especially, if you're truly in pain. Go somewhere efficient.
