“My husband received excellent care for his back pain here. After our first visit, Valyn (MA) and Heather (NP) knew our names. My husband received two steroid shots in his back 2 weeks apart. He had immediate relief after each one, but it was short-lived. Later, on MRI, it was easy to see an extruded disc causing pressure on his nerve roots leaving him in 8/10 pain. He got a referral to a neurosurgeon who wanted to fuse 3 vertebrae. Wanting a second opinion, Heather gave us the contact information for a neurosurgeon who we found was more conservative and believed he could avoid fusion. We were guided through the process of diagnosis and treatment with care and understanding by Heather. Every phone call to the office was returned promptly by Valyn. My husband and I are very grateful for the skills and concern of everyone in Dr. Dinger's offices in Boerne and Schertz. My only recommendation would be to have an MRI early to speed up identifying the exact problem. In my husband's case, the treatment he needed changed after his MRI. This extended the time he was in severe pain, delaying referral for surgery.”
